When applying for a resident permit you must have the following:
All three (3) must have the address of the street you are applying for. The RPA will not accept any other forms of ID.
If a resident dispose of their car or moves off the street, the permit must be removed & returned to the RPA
Resident permits must be placed on the *rear driver’s side window. The resident permit does not guarantee a parking space, but will exempt you from the two-hour parking limit on your street. The permit does not exempt the resident from any other parking rules.
* Motorcycles should place the permit on the left front fork of the tire. This permit does not exempt your vehicle from the street sweeper, meters, snow removal or any other parking rule. (Warning message style)
Penalty for violation of this ordinance shall be a fine of not exceeding $500.00 or imprisonment for a period of thirty days, and revocation of the parking permit privilege.
All permits must be renewed BEFORE THE FIRST OF EVERY MONTH. If you fail to renew your permit, it will be assigned to the next person on the waiting list. For your convenience, you may make payments using one of the following methods:
Rahway Parking Authority <67 Lewis Street, Rahway, NJ 07065> Send payment by the 18th of each month and include on your check your lot#, however many months you wish to purchase and a self-addressed stamped envelope.
If for any reason you cannot make it here by the 1st please call us to hold your sticker. If you do not call us we will sell your sticker.
On the first day of each month the lot will be patrolled and a summons will be issued to any vehicle without a current permit. The Rahway Parking Authority WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN PERMITS. All vehicles must be removed as soon as possible during a snowfall so our crew can plow and remove snows.
Place the permit pocket in the rear window of the driver’s side. NEVER place the pocket on a roll down window. Vehicles with roll down rear windows are to place the permit in the rear driver’s side window.
The Rahway Parking Authority will not be responsible for any damage or loss to a vehicle or their contents while on the property of the Rahway Parking Authority or other affiliated agencies.
